Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock carries the passion for music forward from Guitar Hero. The main game play has not changed other than some minor tweaks here and there, and the amazing list of hot tracks it supports is the best that any game has. There are improvements in the graphics and the level of difficulty of some of the songs is at an all-time high, making it even more challenging for dedicated gamers. Guitar Hero III offers some of the most awesome content as compared to any other music game in the market.
Guitar Hero III has a guitar controller with a strummer and a set of five fret buttons. The way the game is played is as follows – you can see the notes appear on the screen and you need to hit the matching buttons as quickly as possible to create the music. Guitar Hero III has a stunning collection of hit soundtracks and playing it should give you as much pleasure as having created them yourselves. Not limited to one age or genre, the list encompasses popular songs from across many generations and genres.
* For example, you will find classic rock singles like Santana’s ‘Black Magic Woman’ and ZZ Top’s ‘LaGrange’.
* You will find alternative rock pieces selected from the 90s era sung by groups like Red Hot Chilli Peppers or Pearl Jam
* There is even room for some heavy metal classics like Slayer’s ‘Raining Blood’ or Metallica’s ‘One’.
Fans are bound to be pleased with the much higher quality of the music that Guitar Hero III brings with it.
Despite the increase in difficulty level the game provides for hours and hours of intense fun and a music lover can just lose himself in it. There has not been much change in the game play though it has been adjusted to accommodate all the great numbers that have been introduced in this version. There has been an effort to make it easier to pull out hammer-ons and pull-offs and you can hit really great set of single notes more smoothly than before, which considering the extreme difficulty in some songs, was highly desired. In fact, players can now see which notes can be pulled off or may be hammered on, as those particular notes are shown glowing brightly on the screen.
Another additional feature - the game will keep track of all your note streaks allowing you to concentrate on playing the game. In fact, knowing that you are going to be completely lost in creating these amazing rock numbers, there are also regular text messages flashed across the screen to remind you of which streak milestone you have reached. There are major design improvements in the way the star-power meter is shown and even in the score tracker itself.
Guitar Hero III truly contains almost all the legends of rock and for any gamer who is also a hard rock fan, this is as perfect a combination as one can wish for.
