I have a Game Boy Advance and a Nintendo DSi XL with Pokemon Emerald and Pokemon Diamond respectively. I know that the DSi and DSi XL systems do not have a slot for Game Boy cartridges, so I want to know if there's any other way to trade between Emerald and Diamond. Does anybody know?

No way possible since there is no cartridge slot. Shoulda got a DS lite if you own GBA games!
