For a regular xbox it is possible to use a different hard drive. There are two ways of doing it. If you haven’t been on live with the console then you can just swap a formated hard drive in. If you have it ties your hard drive key to your eeprom of the xbox so you will need to buy a new eeprom to install a new hard drive. If you don’t know what you are doing it is a pretty hard thing so i would recommend getting a pro to do it.
