Modded Overclocked Nintendo DS Lite

Cool video about nintendo ds lite - have a look:

Update: If you think this is fake, read this: www.modd3d.com Trying to play Mario Kart DS on a DS Lite overclocked with GBAcelerator DS. It's pretty easy to adjust the game from crazy-fast to easy-slow with this mod; just push L, R and Select. You don't even need to pause the game or put it in standby to switch speeds. Watch the power LED to see what mode you are in. Find out how this mod was done at www.modd3d.com For more information about GBAccelerator DS: www.division-6.com

@Tossphate I’m going to try that at some point.

Modd3d August 15, 2011 at 7:04 pm

@AidanNaut0 Yes.

AidanNaut0 August 15, 2011 at 7:05 pm

making the game play slower also makes the power light flash slower, eh?

mysteryloser24 August 15, 2011 at 7:13 pm

@samljer No, you’re wrong there. A psp with cfw allows you to change the CPU speeds, but games do not run faster like this, they run smoother because the cpu’s going faster, but they don’t speed up at all. :)

Tossphate August 15, 2011 at 7:37 pm

@Modd3d Thanks for your reply, in that case I see nothing here that leads me to believe this is fake. Consider this a u-turn on my part.
…but can you now do one for the 3DS? :)

Modd3d August 15, 2011 at 8:17 pm

@Tossphate There are different blink codes for various speeds. 1 blink for fast, 2 blinks for ultra-fast, slowly fading in and out for slow-motion. The overclocking chip uses PWM to make the LED fade.

@Cwazywazy14 So did you read it? :)

Cwazywazy14 August 15, 2011 at 9:11 pm

video is just sped up. the “if you tink this is fake read this: (link)” part of the description proves it.

samljer August 15, 2011 at 9:40 pm

@mikez357 not for consoles, the game is directly linked to the clock cycles of the hardware.
a PC thats true, but not consoles at all.

Overclocking a PC is not the same as overclocking a console. PC games are designed to run on all different CPUs, so it adapts to different speeds.

All of one type of console has the same CPU, so games use the CPU’s cycle time is always the same. The games rely on this clock to keep a steady time, so if you change it, it will change the game’s speed too. There’s no reason for a game to be designed to adapt to different clock speeds.

@mikez357 overclocking (well at least in pcs) is where you make the cpu run faster than normal and so it processes things faster

MrCopticforever August 16, 2011 at 6:26 am

that’s not overclocking, it’s just changing the game speed
