A question about hooking the Xbox 360 wireless controller to a PC?

It recently came to my attention to that the Wired Xbox 360 controller can be used as a PC controller. Out of curiosity I downloaded the software required to do so then used the USB Xbox Plug and Play Charger to plug my Xbox Wireless Controller into my PC's USB port in hopes that I could use this connection to have my controller fucntion for my PC.

So far my PC refuses to acknowledge that my controller is a controller. Is what I'm doing impossible or am I doing something wrong?

it probably has something to do with the charger. Did you try plugging the usb controller directly into the computer (without the charger in between?) I have the pc controller, and it doubles as a wired controller when I play with friends without any problems.

Plug the controller directly in your pc usb port. Your PC won’t be able to recognize the Plug and Play charger because it’s not a supported hardware. I would suugest you buy a Quick charge kit instead of using the play and charge. With the Quick charge kit, you will never run out of battery because it’s always fully charged.

there is a wireless receiver that can accept all the 360 components frequencies and will install all the drivers to your PC
