Can I use a PlayStation 3 controller to play emulated games on my PC?

I like playing emulated PlayStation games on my PC, but using the keyboard as a controller is hard. Is it possible to use a PlayStation 3 controller for emulated games?

ya, it is a fairly complex process. You need to put sixaxis or dualshock drivers on to your computer, then run the driver and configure it with the program Xpadder. Sounds simple enough, but it really isn’t. Took me about 4 hours of experimenting before i got it to work on battlefield 1942.

This video would have helped me, if only it was up when I did this. I had to use drivers from some japanese website.
