cuz im getting the ps3 for Christmas, and i have way to many of my old ps2 games, so will they work in the ps3? thanks

Sadly no. If this were true I would have gotten a PS3 a loooong time ago.
it will work only on the older ps3 models. the newer ps3 models will not play ps2 games
the new ps3 slims are not compatible. If you can find an older 60gb, those are the only compatible Ps3 systems with ps2 games, even so they can’t even play ps2 games from more than 3 years back.
Only the PS3 that have 4 USB ports (20, 60, and 80 gb that came with Motorstorm or Metal Gear Solid).
PS3 that have 2 USB ports will not play PS2 games (40, 80 gb that comes with no games, 160, 120 gb Slim, and 250 gb Slim).
not the new ones.
just get a 360
