how do you conect the wii mote to the pc

GohBoonJin May 13, 2010 at 8:11 pm

@Laascar you can just press the 1+2 buttons in SmoothConnect and the software will automatically connect the Wiimote. You do not need to manually set up the Wiimote

GohBoonJin May 13, 2010 at 8:59 pm

@THEmarvINvideos you can use Smoothboard to help you right click and also trigger other keyboard keys.

LuaRADDotOrg May 13, 2010 at 9:47 pm

Just so you know…. you don’t HAVE to use the Wiimote to do this… I’ve developed a similar working system using a basic IR camera with custom software. It’s also what we do for Motion Capture :) The wiimote is a nice option, though, since it’s accessible to everyone :)

THEmarvINvideos May 13, 2010 at 10:09 pm

Can I use the right click too?
How?

Laascar May 13, 2010 at 10:16 pm

so the wii-mote is automatically connectable to a bluetooth-supporting computer?

GohBoonJin May 13, 2010 at 10:19 pm

@JoyMaze123 how far are you trying to set it up? If you are using a genuine Wiimote, a good IR pen, and setting up correctly, the tracking should be good. You can use Smoothboard’s Calibration Window to adjust the Wiimote’s position

GohBoonJin May 13, 2010 at 10:53 pm

@haroonbannu all you need is the Smoothboard software, Bluetooth adapter, Wiimote and IR source/IR Pen.

GohBoonJin May 13, 2010 at 11:12 pm

@Lengi123 you can take a look at our guide. Just Google for “Smoothboard User Guide”. The Bluetooth dongle and IR pen can be bought at a low price online.

Jebrone May 13, 2010 at 11:58 pm

@Lengi123 your computer has to have bluetooth compatibility. you can more than likely buy those at a store for 60$ i think. It might be cheaper it might be more expensive! =P look it up, they come in usb’s the size of dimes.

haroonbannu May 14, 2010 at 1:39 am

Do i have to write custom software to hook the wiimote with the computer or make the whole ensemble mimic a mouse?

Portals360 May 14, 2010 at 1:51 am

@HAMAZA7123 It’s still a lcd screen, so yes.

HAMAZA7123 May 14, 2010 at 2:49 am
