This worked fine for official Sony ps2 controllers to get them to work on ps3. I tried it with my ps2 wired guitar controller (the original red one) – the ps3 recognized a controller as plugged in, but not a guitar, and hence it didn’t work. Was trying this on Guitar Hero World Tour, and Rock Band 2 for PS3. Oh well. If anyone has found something that makes the original ps2 guitar work on ps3 please let me know – those old ps2 guitars are simply the best.

These do not work with DDR AT ALL!!!! I’m just going to wait until the PS3 game is out and buy new pads… Don’t bother buying if you want it for DDR

I have heard that some of these converters don’t work very well, but this one, called the “PIII Charger” works very well with Sony official ps2 controllers. It did not work with my generic Mad Cats controller at all, but worked completely fine for the genuine Sony controller. You won’t get the Sixaxxis feature, but it will work for games like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. I just couldn’t bring myself to spending 45-50 dollars for a controller, yet alone buying two! I highly recommend this adapter.

Great product, works fine on my PS3 except that I couldn’t upgrade in Resident Evil 5 using this on the PS2 controllers.
I was desperate to play RE5 co-op with a friend but was not willing to spend $54 on a PS3 controller, so I looked online and found this. I can proudly say that I saved $45. Buy it to use with your PS2 controller and save yourself lots of money instead of buying a brand new PS3 controller for $54 plus tax.
I heard this usb converters don’t work with guitar hero controllers, so guitar hero players beware.
