My Xbox 360 said that there was an option to play my Xbox LIVE account on an original xbox console, but I have no clue how to set it up, can someone help?

Yes you can, they released Xbox Live in 2002 so I’m pretty sure you can play some games on your original xbox
you can play original xbox games from your 360 of you have it updateted not all but a good few will play and you can use your live account on the xbox one games playing on the 360
