Dont get me wrong i like the controller its comfortable (despite the fact that it gives u sweaty hands). But outta my own stupidity i thot it was a dualshock 2 controller but it aint. I ended up tryin to play star wars battle front 2 on it and it dont work. I thot it worked on nfl street? so i look at the bak and it says analog control on street and dualshock2 on battlefront. But dont blame it for my mistake. Although i do think they were tryin to rip me off cuz on the pack it said ps2 control. And i also think that the plastic is not hard enuff it would break too soon.
My Score: 4 / 5 stars
Madcatz made a bunch of quality stuff for the Playstation, they did aftermarket controllers, racing wheels, and dance mats. When you wanted to replace your stock Playstation pads, you most likely went with Madcatz. In my opinion, this controller is actually BETTER than the stock pad that came with my Playsation. Don’t get me wrong, the PS1&2 controller design was great, so much that PC gamepad makers began copying it. But for me, the original D-pad was so hard it gave my thumbs blisters, and hitting the diagonals was too difficult.
This Madcatz pad has the tried and true “cross” d-pad design. It also has rumble and analog sticks. Some other knock-off pads lack those features. For 7 bucks, you can’t beat this. And for emulation gamers; get this pad, get a Playstation to USB adapter from Lik-Sang and find yourself a copy of Joy2Key (its freeware). You can map the buttons to just about anything, even mouse movement. Don’t bother with flimsy PC controllers with recessed d-pads that are hard to push *cough-logitech-cough* and don’t have enough buttons.
