I am planning on buying a DS. I am probably getting the original DSi. I just don't see the point of making a handheld game system the size of a small portable DVD player. It's supposed to be small, and the DSi is not too small at all. I think the screen is fine on the original but I want to know what you think about the bigger screen on the DSi XL. Do you like it better? Do you think it's stupid?

yes stupidest thing i have ever seen,the whole poitn of portable ame sytems is for them to be ..well..PORTBLE,and seriosly iu try lugign that thing around with you,i havea DS lite crimson,got it the year it was relesed,3 chritmas’s ago and i luv it,its taken a beating and what not,but my utton havent worn out and its still workign pro(although my batterydsnt last as long any more i did a test and it use to last a littl under 7 hours,while i was playing on full brigtness(pokemon game series) and now it last about 5:30hr but thats what happenes)
anyway dsixl pointless pice of crapy ass (pardon my language) the dsi,quit nice its a great sytem better then my ds lite bc iut has a music player as well
go for the dsi,the only reson i dnt have it is because 1-my ds ltie works fine2-i have an i pod 3-$$$
I have the first Dsi i think that they are the same i think if u own a ds dont upgrade update untill the 3ds comes out next year
My brother has a dsi and I have a dsi xl. Frankly, the dsi xl is fantastic. The screen is gorgeous (no blurring at all from what I’ve seen) and DEFINITELY worth it imo. If you’re deciding between a normal and a xl then definitely go for the xl.
And yes, it’s slightly less portable, but it’s nowhere near the size of a dvd player or whatever Legendkill444 was saying (I can’t understand a word of that, try using a spell checker once in a while). And frankly, I’ve never found that ANY of the gameboys/ds systems (besides the sp) are portable enough to just stick in your pocket and forget.
Frankly, buy whatever you want, but anyone who calls the xl “a pointless pice of crapy ***” is a moron.
ok, you know, the point of the DS Lite is to make it smaller, lighter, and more handy than the regular DS. And now they’re making a DSi XL. I find it quite stupid for them to make it bigger, so big that it doesnt fit in most of people’s pockets anymore. At first i found the DSi quite meaningless to many people, including me, having a camera that has really bad resolutions, so i did not bother buying DSi, but now i stay neutral about DSi.
So i think original DSi would be better, even though DSi XL has a really big screen. plus having such a big screen near your face might affect your eyes unless you play DS with your arms almost straight.
