Anyone worried that there might be too few game titles for Sony's portable platform should relax right away. There are hundreds, and none so exciting as the line of action games built for this outstanding hand-held unit.
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City is an excellent case in point. Filled with all the heart-pumping races and the classic crashes for which this Mature game is known, you'll never run out of ways to get your adrenalin going with this one. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories raises the level even further. You and your cohorts enter Vice City 1984 and learn quickly how to survive.
Younger gamers might want to get in on some racing action, too. Speed Carbon: Own the City is a great way for parents to make that possible. Rated E for Everyone 10 or older, there is the same racing intensity minus the more mature content.
For something just as capable of producing a rush, but a little more on the heroic side, try Medal of Honor Heroes 2. It's ESRB rated T for Teens and lets gamers get all their senses engaged. It features great visuals as you take part in OSS WWII missions.
For battles on the other side of the galaxy, check out the Star Wars BattleFront II. This sequel is every bit as exciting as the original game and takes you once again into a galaxy far, far away. You'll battle Storm Troopers and become a Jedi Knight in no time.
For a great variation, try the Star Wars Battlefront Renegade Squadron. Taking place a year after the stupendous Battle of Endor, the freedom fighters seem to have won out. But the forces of darkness are never idle for long. Be prepared to conquer them again and again as you build your Jedi skills to a peak.
Make sure the Force is on your side, though, if you hope to succeed. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will test that question and push your gaming to the limit. You can become Darth Vader's apprentice and develop your Force Push, Grip, Repulse, and Lightning powers.
Now practice your martial arts skills in another way with the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes game. Teens will find plenty to keep them engaged as they hone their mind and dexterity. Stealth is key to a Ninja and the dark corridors will provide plenty of opportunities to practice.
For the ultimate in fighting skill you can become Spiderman: Friend or Foe. You can become good Spidey or Black Spidey and struggle against good or evil. Along the way you'll do battle with many of the sticky superhero's greatest foes while you test the patience of many of his finest friends.
Whichever world you want to enter, whatever character you want to become, there's a Sony PlayStation Portable game that will turn your PSP from a gaming platform into a full-scale adventure.
