I am going to New York at the end of February and I have desided to get a Playstation 3 80GB as they are not available in the UK. I have checked everything else but this. Would accessories from the UK like, contollers, cameras etc work on the America Playstation 3.

They might work but the us PS3 is formatted in NTSC and the European Model in Pal the peripherals are the same so there will be a conflict there. I doubt if they will work with the NTSC games. Sorry don’t believe the guy under me. if you buy ps3 games in eroupe and try them on you U.S. model they will not work. If you don’t believe me then call Sony in Eroupe 08705 998877 or online help@uk.playstation.com
Yes, they will. I have US PS3 in Europe, controllers work, etc. USB, Wi-fi and Bluetooth standards are international.
Note: PS3 games are region free, but PS1/2 games and movies aren’t. You’ll need a powerful converter too (I’m using 500 watt one).
